150 youth and women graduated from our vocational training programs in tailoring, mechanics, and computer skills, ready to start their own businesses.
CONHA celebrated a significant milestone as 150 young people and women graduated from our intensive vocational training programs, equipped with practical skills to build sustainable livelihoods and start their own businesses.
Graduation Statistics
Skills Acquired
The graduation ceremony was attended by local business leaders, government officials, and community members. Graduates showcased their newly acquired skills through exhibitions of clothing designs, mechanical repairs, and digital presentations.
"When you give someone a skill, you don't just give them a job – you give them dignity, independence, and the ability to transform their entire family's future."
— Livelihoods Program Coordinator
Each graduate received a startup toolkit relevant to their trade: sewing machines for tailors, basic mechanic toolsets, or computer tablets for those trained in digital skills. CONHA will continue providing mentorship and business development support over the next year.
"I never imagined I could run my own business," said 22-year-old graduate Amina Mohamed. "Now I have the skills to start a tailoring shop and employ other young women from my neighborhood."
The program's success has prompted plans for expansion, with two additional vocational training centers scheduled to open in 2024, targeting 300 more youth across Somalia.
